Fire Chief Big Winner

In response to economic uncertainty and difficult fiscal times, during FY 2009 the Chief and firefighters in Greenwich Local 1042 took a 0% increase in pay. However, in fiscal year 2010, the Chief, who is not part of the Local, was awarded a 5% increase in pay while rank and file firefighters were given 3%. Much like Wall Street, it seems the Town condones higher pay increases for its senior managers over regular workers.
